Prof. YING Yibin named to the 2020 Class of ASABE Fellows

Recently, Prof. YING Yibing from the Zhejiang University College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science has been inducted into the 2020 Class of Fellows with the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) for his outstanding contributions to intelligent agro-information sensing equipment and agricultural robots. Prof. YING is the first recipient of this honor in the Chinese mainland.

ASABE is an educational and scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems. Founded in 1907 and headquartered in St. Joseph, Michigan, ASABE comprises members in more than 100 countries. Agricultural, food, and biological engineers develop efficient and environmentally sensitive methods of producing food, fiber, timber, and renewable energy sources for an ever-increasing world population. ASABE defines a Fellow as a member of unusual professional distinction, with outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in, or related to, the field of agricultural, food, or biological systems engineering. ASABE Fellows possess a minimum of 20 years of active practice in, or related to, the profession of engineering; the teaching of engineering; or the teaching of an engineering-related curriculum and a minimum of 20 years as an active Member-Engineer or Member in ASABE. In 2020, only 11 scientists from all over the world win ASABE’s highest honor.
