In his keynote address, President DU Jiangfeng welcomed the students with a powerful message about the potential of youth. Representing the upperclassmen, DAI Rongying, a senior from the School of Literature and member of the Student Union Executive Committee, encouraged the freshmen to uphold the university’s legacy of excellence and service. We must aspire to lofty goals, innovate new paths, and engage earnestly with the challenges of our times, he said.
Freshman representative YANG Zizhu from the engineering program expressed the hope for navigating the university life with her peers. To truly thrive, we must cultivate independence, enhance our problem-solving capabilities, and boldly embrace the challenges that define our era, she suggested.
The event also featured a tribute to the University's 127-year history through poetry recitations, symbolizing the beginning of a transformative journey for the new students.
