Seminar on Chemical Engineering programs and curriculums reform held in Hangzhou
During March 26-28, the seminar on reform of Chemical Engineering programs, ideological and political curriculums was successfully held in Hangzhou.
The seminar was held by the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT), and organized by the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering of Zhejiang University (ZJU CBE) and the College of Chemical Engineering of Zhejiang University of Technology.ZJUT’s professor Xiaonian Li and ZJU CBE’s Bogeng Li served as the chairman of the meeting. ZJU CBE’s Prof. Pengju Pan and prof. Lianbang Wang of ZJUT served as the directors of the organizing committee. The meeting was greatly assisted by Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Chuanua Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Jingbo Holding Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Zhongkong science and Education Equipment Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Baizijian Technology Co., Ltd. The conference attracted about 280 representatives from more than 80 universities across the country.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by prof. Xiaonian Li. Mr. Yongming Yu, deputy director of Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, Prof. Jian Wu, vice president of Zhejiang University, and prof. Shuqian Xia, Secretary General of Chemical Engineering Education Committee of Ministry of Education addressed the conference respectively. Mr. Yongming Yu highly affirmed the important role of Political Curriculum Construction in talent training, and emphasized the important mission of educating talents for the country that the three main bodies of universities, faculties and curriculums should undertake. Professor Jian Wu expressed warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests. He hoped that the experts and scholars of the participating universities and enterprises would focus on the improvement of the construction level of chemical engineering specialty and jointly promote the improvement of the quality of China's chemical engineering specialty talent training. Professor Shuqian Xia highly appreciated the meeting, explained the problems and challenges faced by the current enrollment and training of chemical engineering programe, and hoped to take this opportunity to deeply understand the construction methods of chemical engineering courses, so as to make ideological and political education and education of chemical engineering develop in coordination.
The conference report was presided over by professor Bogeng Li. Professor Zheng Liu, professor Guodong Lu, professor Xiaonian Li and Mr. Jide Zhao delivered the conference reports on "Innovating higher education of Chemical Engineering, serving the sustainable development ", "Innovating practice of teaching reform", "Moral education mechanism based on ideological and political curriculum" and "Exploration and practice of chemical talent cultivation in Wanhua". The experts at the meeting had a strong response and communicated with each other freely.
On the afternoon of the 27th, the seminar set two sessions of " Construction of ideological and political curriculum" and "Reform of construction and program". Professor Fengyu Wei, professor Xin Feng, professor Xuyun Wang, and Mr. Wang Siyi etc. shared their ideological and political education status around the theme of curriculum construction.
Professor Junwei Ye, professor Peigao Duan, and professor Pan Pengju etc. introduced the experience and characteristic practices of program construction and personnel training in universities. After the report, the sub venue conducted an in-depth discussion on the theme of ideological and political education of chemical engineering courses and the reform of training scheme under the major enrollment.
This seminar has built an information exchange platform for chemical engineering programs in universities across the country, which will promote the reform of ideological and political construction in Chemical Engineering under the major enrollment, improve the construction level of Chemical Engineering programs, and improve the education quality of chemical engineer training.
