On December 13th, a group of 38 Malaysian students from the Study at ZJU camp arrived at College of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) for a visit. The visit aimed to provide an insight into the academic and cultural life at ZJU, guiding the high school science graduates towards potential future studies and fostering their interest in becoming international students.
Academic Insights
The students participate to an academic lecture where doctoral students ZHANG Ming, advised by Professor ZHAO Junjie, Karen, a Malaysian postdoc under Professor LIAO Zuwei, and HAN Xiao, mentored by Professor YANG Xuan, shared their research work. The engaging presentations on the forefront of chemical engineering research at ZJU CBE sparked interest among the students, prompting questions and a clearer vision of pursuing chemical engineering at the university.
Laboratory Exploration and Interaction
Following the lecture, the students rotated through three research group laboratories. Each group provided detailed introductions to the lab equipment and patiently addressed the visitors' inquiries. The inquisitive students actively engaged with the facilities, capturing the essence of ZJU's chemical engineering research through photos and discussions.
Historical Tour and International Outlook
The visit continued with a tour of the college's history museum, where International Affairs Coordinator ZHOU Guangzhao greeted the students warmly. She detailed the college's founding, current status, and distinguished alumni. Ms. ZHOU also highlighted the college's international collaborations and exchange programs, emphasizing the global reach and influence of the College.
This reception not only showcased the college's educational and research prowess but also laid the groundwork for future international recruitment, talent development, and global expansion. The Malaysian student delegation's visit was a testament to the college's commitment to fostering international academic exchange and enriching the cultural diversity of its student body.
